Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball team fell for the first time in the 2013-2014 college basketball season on Friday, after dropping an 83-73 road decision to the Sam Houston St. Bearkats, in Huntsville, Texas.

Sam Houston St. led at the half, 43-33, and then hung on for the ten-point victory, their first of the year.

The Bearkats out-shot the Cajuns from the field, 63%-32%, and also finished with a 42-26 rebound advantage.

Jasmine Johnson led the way for Sam Houston St., pouring in a game-high 31 points, while Angela Beadle chipped in with 14 points, along with a game-high 19 rebounds.

For Louisiana, in a losing cause, Keke Veal scored a team-high 17 points.

With the win, the Bearkats improved to 1-2, while the Cajuns fell to 2-1.

The UL women return to action on Wednesday, November 20, when they host Lamar.
