Two Virginia girls, both 17, are in critical condition after the sail they were riding on broke free from the boat that was pulling it in Panama City, FL.

Eyewitnesses say that the wind picked up and was making it difficult for the boat to pull the sail, so the boat operators dropped anchor and were unable to 'reel in' the girls.  The force of the wind broke the cable, and the parasail, with the girls still harnessed in, slammed into the side of a high-rise condominium, then carried them over the building and into a palm tree, then onto some vehicles in a parking lot.

Florida officials are investigating.

Here's an "Inside Edition" special report on parasailing....

And, NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART, here is an amateur video of the two girls slamming into the condominium.
