A fun event is planned to help raise awareness for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, and to raise money for those living with it. The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and Team Gleason will host the Gleason Classic, the World’s Longest 5k, on October 7, 2017. The day’s fun activities begin with yoga, followed by the race, then you can Twerk-Out with Big Freedia and Mark Berger! Team Gleason hopes to ultimately find a cure for ALS and you can help by participating or donating. If you want to be a part of it, but aren’t necessarily interested in running, you can become a volunteer. Positions include water station, t-shirt distribution, and finish line helpers. If you volunteer, you’ll get a volunteer t-shirt and you get to go to the post-race party which includes complimentary beverages and food.

To register as a volunteer, click here. To register for the race, click here. Race entry allows you to participate in all three fitness activities, you’ll get a limited edition Team Gleason t-shirt and admission to post-race festivities with refreshments.

If you have any questions, email volunteers@gnosports.com.
