Just when it looked like Hurricane Season 2016 was about to become a part of weather history another potential trouble spot has popped up. Unfortunately for residents in the Bahamas that were hit hard by Hurricane Matthew this system will likely affect them too.

The National Hurricane Center is giving the area of disturbed weather located just to the north and east of the southeastern end of Bahama Island chain a 70% probability of becoming a tropical cyclone sometime within the next five days.

Upper level winds in and around the system are expected to relax and create an environment more conducive for tropical development.  Tropical forecast models are picking up on this system and as of early this morning they do not seem to indicate it will be a threat to the United States coastline.
