Travis Ewing is a 24-year old singer and guitarist from Lafayette, Louisiana, and he's stirring things up as a contestant on Season 8 of NBC's hit show The Voice. Travis graduated from Lafayette High School in 2009 and was an LSU Tiger.

Travis' style got Christina Aguilera to turn within the first ten seconds, which shouldn't surprise many of his closest friends and family. He played a lot of shows at bars and local spots as an undergrad at LSU, and we'll just say the crowds were mostly filled with the ladies.

He was always interested in music, but it wasn't until a music teacher in 7th grade by the name of Jane Vidrine saw his potential that he started taking his craft seriously. Over the next few years, he started developing his own, funky sound through experimentation with the guitar and, later on, loop pedals.

Travis' influences widely range from classic rock all the way to hip-hop and old-school R&B. With his versatility and style, it's no surprise country music megastar Blake Shelton said, "You can win this competition with that guy."

After a lively show at the Howling Wolf in New Orleans, Travis earned the title of "Musician of the Year" from RAW Artists of New Orleans. Up until the moment when he stepped on the stage for The Voice, that was the biggest show he ever played in front of 350 people. Now he has throngs of fans flocking to all his social media accounts and commenting on his YouTube videos, a fact his lovely girlfriend is learning to cope with.

Travis significantly remembers receiving an Eric Clapton "unplugged" album from a neighbor who passed away and hearing the songs "Tears in Heaven" and the acoustic version of "Layla." He was moved by the music, and it was when he just began learning how to play the guitar.

The sheer talent and emotional capacity displayed by Clapton and his guitar floored him, and he said it inspired him to "work my tail off to someday be anywhere near his level of talent."

Hard work is definitely paying off now, as 'Say My Name' broke iTunes Top 200 downloads within 24 hours of his first performance on The Voice. The sky is the limit for the Lafayette native, who just recently moved to Charleston, South Carolina. With the help of the coach he selected, super-producer and hit-maker-extraordinaire Pharrell Williams, his unique style could be shined up and polished into a commercial gem.

Hardcore followers of NBC's massive hit, The Voice, will certainly appreciate all the new variations of songs they know and love.
