There will be intermittent lane closures on Highway 90 this weekend, and next Monday a bridge in Vermilion Parish will close for work that will last for several months.

With the first project, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development says this Saturday, July 13, until Sunday, July 14, the right lanes of U.S. 90 westbound and eastbound, between Albertson's Parkway and Ambassador Caffery Parkway, will have intermittent closures in order for crews to conduct roadway sampling.

The lanes closures will be between 5:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., weather permitting.

With the second project, the DOTD will be closing the Highway 35 bridge over Coulee Dejon in Vermilion Parish starting Monday, July 15.   The closure will last for about 8 months.

They are replacing the bridge at that area.

The bridge over Coulee Dejon is the first of three bridges that will be replaced as part of the Kaplan Bridge replacement project.

The $2.6 million project will replace three timber bridges with concrete span bridges along Highway 35 between Highways 14 and 82.

Crews will also replace the bridge approaches as well as install new guardrail and drainage pipe.
