TRAFFIC ALERT: Morning Crash Closes Mississippi River Bridge

The westbound lanes of the Mississippi River Bridge are closed in Baton Rouge after a crash involving two big rigs and at least one passenger vehicle this morning. Crews are on the scene and working to clean up the debris from the roadway. Traffic is backed up miles in each direction.

Authorities suggest you take an alternate route if you are headed east on I-10 through Baton Rouge. Hwy 190 is open, but there are some delays. The suggested detour is I-10 East to I-49 Northbound and then exit onto Hwy 190 in Opelousas.
