Dr. Martin Luther King is known for his leadership in the Civil Rights Movement. In his most famous speech, at the Lincoln Memorial in 1963 during the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, Dr. King delivered an address he called 'The American Dream.' In it, he called for the nation to fulfill its promise of freedom and justice for all of its citizens. Although he began by reading from a manuscript, he abandoned it and spoke directly to the assembled crowd. Everyone's heard of the speech, but have you ever actually heard it or read it? I thought I would share it with you today.
