It was 58 years ago Elvis Presley debuted 'Hound Dog' on the Milton Berle Show and the controversy began.

On June 5, 1956, Elvis debuted his cover of Big Mama Thorton's 'Hound Dog' on the popular Milton Berle Show.  He premiered his now infamous swiveling hips and raunchy gyrations that sparked outrage from the viewers of the show that evening.

Elvis recorded the song one month later and 'Hound Dog' ended up number one on the Billboard charts.
