These tips will make your left overs, stored vegetables and fruit last longer.  No more brown avocados, premature sprouting of potatoes, even bananas will last longer.

For left over guacamole, stop using lemon juice, cooking spray will do the trick.  Cooking spray will also keep avocados from turning brown.

Keep potatoes from sprouting by storing them with apples.  Never store potatoes with onions.  Potatoes will sprout faster when stored with onions.

The trick to keeping bananas as fresh as the day you bought them is to wrap the stems with plastic wrap.  They will last 3 to 5 days longer.

Have leftover salad?  Keep the lettuce fresh and crisp by putting a paper towel in with the extra salad and cover with plastic wrap.

And finally, make sure your refrigerator is clean.  Mold  left in your refrigerator from other foods can make today's food go bad.  Even if you can see it, mold is there.
