Dates and times have been set for the Baton Rouge, Louisiana NCAA Regional this weekend at Tiger Park, with action taking place Friday-Sunday.

The 15th-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball team will be part of a field that includes top-seeded LSU, along with McNeese St. and Fairfield in the four-team double-elimination regional.

The Cajuns will play their first game against McNeese St. (42-16) on Friday at 3 pm, with the winner facing the LSU (41-18)/Fairfield (26-26) winner, which is scheduled for 5:30 on Friday.

Louisiana, who won the regular season Sun Belt Conference championship, as well the league’s postseason tournament, will be making their 19th-consecutive NCAA Regional appearance, and 27th in the last 28 years.

The only year since 1990 in which Louisiana failed to appear in a regional was 1998.

The Cajuns are 59-32 all-time in the NCAA Regional round, including a 25-5 mark in claiming regional championships and advancing to the super regional round in seven of the last nine appearances (2008-16).

UL's all-time overall record in the NCAA Tournament stands at 71-55, representing the 12th-most wins in NCAA history.

Louisiana, who is 45-6 on the season, is one of only 9 programs to appear in an NCAA Regional every year since 2000, joining Alabama, Arizona, Florida St., Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, UCLA, and Washington.

The winner of the Baton Rouge, La. Regional, would advance to Super Regional play, and take on the winner of the Tallahassee, Florida Regional, which will feature Florida St., Georgia, Princeton, and Jacksonville St.
