Last night, the Times of Acadiana held their 'Best Of' party; it was a room full of the best of the best in Acadiana.

99.9 KTDY was nominated in the category of "Best Local Radio Station"; CJ and Debbie Ray and I were all nominated in the category of "Best Local DJ".

I'll have to say that it was quite an honor to even have been nominated for the contest, but to have placed in the top 3 was quite a shock to me.

If you've never been to the event, it's set up similar to a wedding reception: stage for the band (Jamie Bergeron and the Kickin' Cajuns were performing, and celebrating a win in their category); food stations (several area restaurants were set up at tables around the tent), bar areas (the line never got shorter, as these people in Acadiana like to socialize!!); tables to linger/mingle; dance floor to let your hair down.

The Victorian in Broussard was the setting, with several chandeliers hanging in the tent, it was quite a nice event!

For this "lil fella" from Abbeville, it was really cool to rub elbows with the likes of Becca Murphree, Geoffery Hebert, Glen Armentor, Joey Beyt, Teresa Hebert, Dustin Sonnier; truly the Best of Acadiana (I was even able to sneak into a picture with the staff of the Daily Advertiser!)!

The weather was horrible, with rain, lightening and some pretty good winds; there was actually a tree down across the street from the Victorian (it crashed through the roof at Young's Sports Bar!!); but inside that tent, it was all smiles.

Look for The Times of Acadiana's list of the "Best of Acadiana" 2015, hitting the normal places you'd find The Times tomorrow, June 25, 2015.

As for me, CJ and Deb, and KTDY?  Well, here's a sneak-peek!

On a serious note:  I am humbled to have even been nominated for this list, and I hope that I can live up to the expectations of being one of the "Best of Acadiana".

On behalf of CJ, Debbie Ray, Steve Wiley, Chris Meaux, Ellen Hopper and the rest of the staff at KTDY and Townsquare Media, we thank you for voting, and we thank you  for listening.
