Timeline For Southside High School

The debate over the  name of Lafayette's new high school has finally been settled, but what's next?

According to The Advertiser, here's what's coming up next for Southside High.

Construction will begin no later than next month.

If everything goes according to plan, the LPSS will also begin advertising for a principal in May.

The school's logo, colors, and mascot will be decided in the next few months. Click here for a list of possible colors and mascots. Some of the suggested mascots for Southside High include sharks, eagles, and tigers.

The new principal and staff will be given 12 months for preparation before Southside High opens for freshmen and sophomores in August, 2017.
