What are the best things to eat when you're sick?  As a kid and even now at 51, saltine crackers and a Pepsi are the prescription for making me fell better.  Health.com asked an expert to name the best things to eat and/or drink when you get sick.

Here are 5 things that will make you feel better depending on what you have, according to Health.com.

For nausea eat saltines or pretzels.  This will help to get rid of the acid in your stomach.  Don't drink alcohol, caffeine, greasy and spicy foods.

If you find yourself constipated eat high fiber.  That's no big revelation for you I'm sure.  Drink bunches of water.  Again, probably no earth-shattering news.  But you may not know this, eat bananas, rice, applesauce and toast.

For a runny nose or sore throat, drink warm tea, not hot.  Stay away from foods that would irritate your sore throat.

Eat something that contains magnesium, like nuts, bananas, beans, leafy greens and avocados.  Stay away from caffeine and alcohol.

For a headache, water will usually do the trick.  One glass is all it takes.  Give it about 20 minutes.  A little caffeine may help.  Avoid artificial sweeteners.
