• Stephen Hillenburg, the creator of the show, has a degree in marine biology.
• Squidward is not a squid, he's an octopus.  He only has six tentacles because the animators thought six looked better than eight.
• Tom Kenny is the voice of SpongeBob.
• SpongeBob was born July 14th, 1986 making him 28 years old.
• His original named was 'SpongeBoy'.  A mop company had that name copyrighted so the name 'SpongeBob' was used instead.
