There Will Be Traffic Issues In Lafayette This Weekend

With Festival International De Louisiane, the population of Lafayette will more than triple this weekend. We already have traffic problems in the Hub City as it is.

Tony Trammel, Director of the Traffic and Transportation Department, announced today that the 600 block of Jefferson Street is scheduled to be closed on Saturday, April 28, 2012, from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM for the Festival International de Louisiane-5 K Run.

Detour routes will be made available.

Officials are asking that you be patient, plan ahead, ride the shuttle, and use public transportation.
