The Woman Behind The Music
Carol Kaye was the woman behind much of the music you probably grew up singing, from the Beach Boys to Sonny and Cher and Ray Charles.
Kaye was a studio musician, a member of the band that did the original music on artist's records. Of course, we know the faces of the band members on stage and on television; Kaye and her coworkers were behind-the-scenes with little to no credit for their work.
This video (from 17 News KGET) gets Kaye to talk about being a woman working in a "man's world".
