The Minions Get Fast and Furious in ‘Despicable Me 2′

The spring 2013 season of movies in the Parc concluded last weekend with Despicable Me". It drew the 3rd largets crowd since Downtown Lafayette Unlimited began the event 7 years ago. 'Despicable Me 2' is in the works, and Universal has released a new clip, In which Steve Carell's villainous Gru character and his companion  get a little help from the minions. Her character is voiced by Kristen Wiig. The yellow guys get into some hijinks behind the wheel of a car. Vin Diesel, needs to beon his toes! The minions may be out to take his 'Fast and Furious' job.

The first installment of "Despicable Me'' earned Universal $540 million in box office. The sequel may top that.

It features an all-star voice cast, including Carell, Wiig, Russell Brand, Miranda Cosgrove, Steve Coogan, Ken Jeong, and Benjamin Bratt, 'Despicable Me 2' is slated for a July 3rd premiere.
