The Magic Of Musical Performance

I'm not one for watching awards shows. As a film buff, I used to care about the Oscars, but my lack of patience led me to eventually settling for reading the final results the day after. Same goes for all awards shows, including the Grammys. Last night, though, I decided to watch with my wife, who loves everything about awards shows.

I listen to all kinds of music, and I like the stuff I like. But it's been some time since I've watched music performed, and last night, I was caught up in the magic that comes from watching talented musicians pour their creativity and very selves into their craft. My favorite performances from last night were from the Lumineers (my first exposure to them), The Black Keys, Mumford and Sons, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, and Alicia Keys with Maroon Five.
