Teachers and parents influence young lives in so many ways, but one teacher in Cleveland, OH, went beyond the call of duty and gave part of herself, literally, to save an 8-year-old student.

Nicole Miller, a first grader at Mansfield Christian School, suffers from a genetic disorder that caused kidney malformation which caused the 8-year-old a host of problems which left her too tired to even go to school.  But good news arrived last week when her kindergarten teacher Wendy Killian offered to donate a kidney.

Ms. Killian wanted to pay it forward as her own son needed and received a blood platelet transfusion a few years ago, from a donor.

The surgeries have already happened and now Wendy Killian is not only changing young lives, in the case of Nicole Miller, she has now saved a life!
