What's the truth behind that out-of-left-field Taylor Swift tweet, in which a video captures a snake slithering through a darkened set? We might have our answer by the week's end, when Swift's next single is reportedly dropping.

Swift, whose most recent album 1989 came out nearly three years ago, is gearing up to kick off her TS6 era, according to Us Weeklyand the album's first taste will come on August 25.

"The song is poppy," a source told the site, while another noted. "She's being very secretive about it, but it's going to be a really good one."

A poppy single would certainly stick a pin in rumors that Swift's aiming for a more urban sound with forthcoming work. Either way, reports say her next LP is within reach.

"She's aiming to release an album this fall," a source said. "She's continuing down the pop route because 1989 was a huge success and fans really gravitated toward that album. She knows there's a demand for a new album and has really started focusing on making that happen for fans. She's just excited to get back out there."
