I watched some of the red carpet interviews Sunday night before the Academy Awards telecast and was really moved by Taya Kyle, the widow of 'American Sniper' Chris Kyle. In the middle of the trial of her husband's alleged killer, she had to face the cameras, the interviewers, the public and the critics to attend the awards. She nearly brought me to tears when said she did it to "be there to represent Chris" and that "he would be happy that so much healing is happening." There's been some buzz about her holding Chris' dog-tags on that special night, but I haven't seen much about the other item she clutched tightly in her right hand, along with those precious ID tags and a fabulous silver beaded bag... a crucifix. (She wears both to court every day, too.) God bless America and all the men and women who put their lives on the line for us every day!
