Acadiana, take a stand in 2013.  Literally, stand up!

Many KTDY listeners sit most of the day, behind a desk while listening to the No Repeat 9 - 5 Workday.  About the only time our listen at work family has any 'stand' time, is from the house to the car, from the car to work, then from the job back to the car.  This may be taking years off your life.

Various recent studies have suggested that sitting too much is bad for your health.  According to the latest batch of research, sitting for more than three hours a day can cut two whole years off your life- even if you exercise regularly.  Sitting for three or fewer hours a day could add two years to your life.  On top of that, watching fewer than two hours of TV a day could lengthen your lifespan.

At a time when most of us are making New Year resolutions, one might consider pledging to stand more in 2013.  And remember, it doesn't matter how much exercise you get, standing is imperative to good health.
