When Hurricane/Tropical Storm Isaac was blowing through here (thank goodness things were minimal for most of Acadiana), it reminded me of how pets sometimes can't handle the stress/excitement of bad weather. Lost and Found Pets Acadiana is a Facebook page dedicated to reuniting lost and found pets with their owners.

What was the #1 item of interest in my news feed this morning?  A video that claimed to be of two cats that had been under anesthesia.  The video was cute, cats wobbling across the floor, in search of their food bowls like a couple of drunkards.

We all know there's nothing like a mother's love, and that philosophy holds true even in the animal world. I've seen many cute videos, but this one takes 'cute' to a whole new level. This is what the world needs more of...love!  This may be my favorite warm and fuzzy video of all time.

CJ has been going on all week about the 'critters' that may or may not be invading his new house (he claims that there was a critter in his garage; he DID find a big frog in his kitchen).  When I got home this afternoon to let the dogs out, they immediately went to the back porch and started raising a ruckus!  The hair on Lil' Bit's back was standing on end, and she was pawing at something. I do not know the WHOLE story on this one, I am hoping that the sheriff's deputy in question had good reason to shoot the dog.  According to this story, eyewitnesses claim that he did not. It seems that mid day Saturday, two dogs were running loose on Highway 171 near Longville when motorists called 911.
