May 3, 2012 The park, maintained through cooperation between the Lafayette Consolidated Government and the Vietnam Veterans of American (VVA), Acadiana Chapter (Hill 141), has served as the setting for many events, including Memorial Day ceremonies, Veterans' Day ceremonies, remembrance services, birthday parties, anniversary parties, and group get-togethers.
May 12, 2011 Parks Water System is experiencing problems with it's water system (there is a leak on the main line). As a precaution, the Parks Water System is issuing a BOIL ADVISORY, effective IMMEDIATELY. This boil advisory is to remain in effect until rescinded by the Parks Water System
