In honor of Veterans' Day, the Louisiana Jeepers organized a 'ride' to visit the Louisiana Military Museum at Abbeville's Chris Crusta Memorial Airport on Saturday.
The 7th Annual 'jeep jaunt', to raise money for the American Lung Association, rolled through Acadiana today.
The registration took place at Celebrity Theatres on Hwy 90 in Broussard, followed by the actual 'jaunt' to Cypress Bayou Casino and Hotel.
I checked the PO Box last night before I headed home, and it was chocked full of registrations for the 'jeep jaunt'!!

The first Special Olympics Vermilion Bike/Jeep Poker Run and Cook-Off will take place on June 23, hosted by Museum Cafe' in Erath. The ride will travel many back roads in Vermilion Parish and make stops in Erath, Henry, Intracoastal City and Abbeville.

The Falcon family has done it again! With the help from community Jeepers and generous donations the 6th Annual 'jeep jaunt' was a success. Raising over $32,000 for the American Lung Association, the beautiful Sunday afternoon back road ride to Cypress Bayou Casino included lunch, an auction, door prizes, and great spirits in giving back to the community.
On Saturday, friends and families took part in the Inaugural Freedom Ride Jeep and Motorcycle Run, put on by the Acadiana Patriots in conjunction with the Constitution Celebration , held at Comeaux Recreation Center/Beaullieu Park in Lafayette. The Freedom Ride was a 60-mile trek through a beautiful part of Acadiana, with stops for refreshments and prizes.

After our Mom died in 2004 from an asthma attack, my family and I created the non-profit organization AJRF so that we could start a fundraiser to donate money to the American Lung Association. The Inaugural 'jeep jaunt' turned out to be a huge success, raising $31,000 !!
