I was born & raised a little over an hour from the Canadian border. The winters are typically harsh. The locals are generally pretty good at coping with the severe conditions. This winter, however, has been particularly brutal. Canadian authorities are especially frustrated at a recent spike in crime, that they speculate has been fueled by a phenomenon known as "cabin fever."

These days if you have a problem with a phone, a television, a bill, questions about something you ordered online, etc., chances are you'll get a telemarketer/call center representative from a land far far away.

Steven or Stephen? Cathy or Kathy? Alan or Allen? These are just a handful of names that can be spelled differently.

This individual left the snacks on our receptionist Janet's desk, with a note, detailing the situation. She taped them to the vending machine, where they remained until Tuesday afternoon.
