Today’s Groundhog Day, in case you weren’t aware. Punxsutawney Phil reportedly didn’t see his shadow this morning. That supposedly means there will be an early spring. We do things a little differently here in south Louisiana. We have our own everything, music, food, customs, even our own weather forecasting rodent...

Cajun Groundhog Day is an annual event held at New Iberia’s Boulingy Plaza rivaling the Punxsutawney, Pa. event, which is considered to be the official Groundhog Day Ceremony. 

I guess when the clock struck 6AM yesterday Sonny and Cher were on the radio.

What spurs the groundhog to come out of his hole and check the weather? It's the same reason single go to the bars on ladies night.

No shadow? Spring early. Shadow? Longer winter. But remember, the groundhog(s) are only accurate around 39% of the time. I'd stick with watching Rob Perillo.
