And you can play it here in Lafayette! I'd never heard of it until Mike Leblanc educated me about it. Petanque is a bowling game traditionally played in town parks and squares in France on hard packed surfaces. The games is played by rolling metal balls on the ground, seeking to displace other player’s balls (boules in French).
