Officials warn it's going to be a rough flu season. Cases are already being reported in Acadiana. Parish health units in Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette, Saint Landry, Saint Martin, and Vermilion are offering free flu vaccinations this Thursday, October 17th.

The influenza season in Louisiana is off to an early start, so in an effort to fight the flu, the Louisiana Health Department has scheduled days where residents can get vaccinated for free.

After having sever head congestion, coughing and body aches for several days I decided to see ENT-otolaryngologist Dr. Kim Daykin, MD to make sure it wasn't the flu. Turns out it is just a cold but like so many people in this country, I was faced with making the decision whether or not to get the flu shot.
