Acadiana, I'd like you to meet my mom. She loved country music, Conway Twitty, her son and thought her grand kids hung the moon. She didn't care to cook much, but loved to sew. She was probably one of the most incredible women on Earth, and I never took the time to notice until it was too late.

I had so much fun today at the Big Brothers/Big Sisters gala, fundraiser called 'Wine, Women & Shoes. I met so many wonderful people, and ended up taking home an award for raising the most money for the charity (Thanks to all of you who helped me). So in today's 'Daily Message' I show you the award I was presented, totally unexpected, and I give you not one, but two messages. One is serious and the other is funny. I'm hoping the funny one doesn't offend you. lol

Here's a GREAT message to end the workweek. As we head into the weekend, I think the universe was screaming to me to use this message tonight. I didn't realize it was hot enough to wilt the outdoor plants, but apparently it was. I walked out into the back yard this afternoon and many plants looked almost dead. I watered them, hopefully they'll be perky by morning. The condition of my plants this afternoon, reminded me of a quote from Oscar Wilde. He compares the love in our hearts to the death of plants in our garden of life. It's awesome and I hope you enjoy it.

A few days ago, my boss Mike, sent out a motivational message via email to all Townsquare Media employees. The first time I read it, all I could say was, "Wow". I thought I'd found the secret to life in an email. When you hear this message, although a very basic message, you will understand what I'm talking about.

Today I visited my parents grave site, which will also be my final resting place as well. While pulling weeds and killing ants, I was drawn to the family headstone, in particular the dash between my parent's birth date and the date they expired. I just sat there and stared at those dashes. There were only two as I am lucky enough to still be creating my dash. I was thinking about my 'dash' up till now, am I happy with it? Or do I need to make some changes for the forth quarter of my life?

Rejection. It hurts doesn't it? Well stop letting it. When I do these daily messages, I try to let the universe move me. I figure, if I can inspire just one person with these, then I feel really good about that. Today, for some reason, the universe led me to a quote about 'Rejection'. If you've ever been rejected in a relationship, job, etc., then today's message is for YOU!

I've lived in Judice, La. for about 4 years now. I travel Duhon Road almost every day. Sometimes several times per day and night for that matter. And at different times. I have never, in 4 years, caught the traffic light at Duhon Road and Johnston Street (HWY 167), green. Not once. Obviously, some people do, I've never been one of the lucky ones.

I love my children big like the sky. But my friends with grandchildren say, just wait. They say to me, if you think you love Blake and Brittni, just wait till they have children. I usually say to them, there is no way for me to love anything or anyone, more. I feel like I would love grandchildren equally, but not more. I mean, how is that possible?

What should be the new name of the 'Polyester Power Hour' (Poly Po Ho) show on Friday mornings? The 'Polyester Power Hour' show has evolved into something that no longer fits it's legendary name. Acadiana's longest running, top rated Friday morning show on KTDY, needs a name change. And we need your suggestions.

On my way into work this morning, I heard Shawn Mendes' new song, "In My Blood". It's a song about his battle with anxiety. He relates it to a girl in the song, but in real life, he's had to seek medical help with anxiety and panic attacks. The song made me think of how people let bad situations take over their lives, myself included. And sometimes people harm themselves trying to ease the pain. Never do permanent harm to yourself over a temporary situation.

It's late, I'm tired so we are just going to have a little fun before bedtime. Tonight I share with you several funny sayings that I think you'll enjoy. Nothing serious tonight, just some funnies. My favorite is the very last one, so watch till the end.

I would never go back to that place again and I'd sleep as long as I wanted everyday." Well unfortunately, you have something called bills and until Publisher's Clearing House shows up at your door with a television crew, you have to work to pay them. So let's embrace this day we call Monday. Let's grab Monday by the ears a ride it like it's a new feature at Disney World.

Tell Friday the 13th to suck it. The fact that it's the 13th and it's Friday doesn't have one bit of effect on your life unless you let it. Don't let it. So today's message is awesome AND I ran up on it by shear accident. This morning, I lost my electric toothbrush, at least I thought I'd lost my electric toothbrush.
