Cajun Jeepers Crue', based in Lafayette, was formed by people with similiar interests, including enthusiasm for outdoor/off-road activities and "giving back", in efforts to support the missions of local charities.

Petanque (Pa-tonk) is a funny French name for a fun game. And you can play it here in Lafayette! I'd never heard of it until Mike Leblanc educated me about it. Petanque is a bowling game traditionally played in town parks and squares in France on hard packed surfaces. The games is played by rolling metal balls on the ground, seeking to displace other player’s balls (boules in French).

Gator by the Bay Festival in San Diego Promotes Louisiana and Zydeco

While we were recovering from Festival International and Jazz Fest here at home, folks in California were celebrating our culture on Harbor Island in San Diego Bay. The Louisiana Office of Tourism sponsored 'Gator by the Bay' which featured music and food from the Bayou State and Lafayette - they even gave away a trip to Louisiana! Bands included and Grammy Award winning Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band, KeithFrank and the Soileau Zydeco Band, and Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys.
