Sounds like Adele indeed turned her sorrow into treasured gold — then into treasured platinum, and next week into a Billboard chart record. Billboard reports that amid a week of few new releases, the British chanteuse is slated to top their Billboard 200 chart for the 16th nonconsecutive week, tying the record previously set by the ‘Titanic’ soundtrack.
Adele is on the road to recovery following vocal cord surgery last November, and will be attending the 2012 Grammy awards ceremony in February. Fingers crossed she’ll be well enough to sing!
Adele‘s ’21′ was nominated for Album of the Year at this year’s Grammys. As it turns out, the Brit’s sophomore effort already won the title elsewhere: Rolling Stone.

It was announced yesterday that Adele would be canceling the remainder of her US summer tour due to vocal cord stress.
