Suspect Sought For Theft Of LPSO Cruiser, Firearms

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office needs the public's assistance in locating suspects responsible for the theft of a deputy's patrol car and equipment from the vehicle.

LPSO spokesman John Mowell said the vehicle was stolen from the Greystone Apartment Complex, just South of the Acadiana Mall last Friday night.

Mowell said the thief then drove the car to a vacant home--about 1/3-mile away-- near the intersection of Pall Mall and Melody Drive.

The car was located at that address last Saturday morning, but not without some items missing.

The thief was able to  override the locking mechanisms and steal two firearms-- one a Glock 9mm pistol (Serial No.BFGR344) , the other, an American Defense Mod 5.56-caliber rifle (Serial No. 1433) --and a ballistic vest. (Photos included below)
