Surrey Street Bar Robbed Sunday Night

A bar in the 1500 block of Surrey Street is the latest victim of the recent robberies in Lafayette.

Lafayette Police Department Spokesman Corporal Paul Mouton says officers were called out to the bar around 11:15 p.m. Sunday night after a black male wearing all black colored clothing with a tan knit hat entered the business with a mask over his face and armed with a pistol. The victim told police the suspect fired one shot into the ceiling and then demanded the money from the register.  Police say the suspect also hit one customer in the head and took his wallet before getting away in a dark colored 4-door sedan that was waiting in Heymann Park.
