Stuff The Bus School Supply Drive Begins Monday, July 24

United Way of Acadiana’s annual school supply drive for children in need across Acadiana begins Monday, July 24.

The United Way of Acadiana reports that donations to last year's Stuff the Bus school supply drive totaled more than 85,000 supplies for forty-two schools and programs in the region.

Two hundred and fifty Kits for Kidz, filled with 40 items each, were distributed to 25 teachers in partnership with the Lafayette School Credit Union. An additional 200 stuffed backpacks were provided to the Vermilion Parish School System in partnership with St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Finally,50 filled backpacks were donated to St. Martin Parish’s annual Back to School Bash.

United Way invites area citizens, employees at local business and organizations to 'stuff the bus' along with the generous sponsorships by Cargill Salt, Cox Communications, Lafayette Parish School System and KATC Tools for Schools.

After supplies are sorted they will be distributed the week of August 14 Acadiana schools.
