Steve Gleason’s Battle Against ALS, Lou Gehrig’s Disease

Millions of football fans who had never heard of 'ALS' learned about the disease during last year's Super Bowl pre-game show. A Sports Illustrated video featuring former New Orleans Saint Steve Gleason, of the famous blocked punt during the first game held in the Superdome after Katrina, was shown before the game. Sports Illustrated writer Peter King visited Gleason, 34, his wife and their son, to share the story of how their family is coping with this terrible disease.
