Is it just me, or does each trip to the grocery store cost more than the last? I read somewhere, the average American family throws away $500 worth of food annually. I decided after that to find ways of wasting less food. The two things that I've found most useful are making more effective use of my freezer, and leftovers. This morning, I decided to put some leftovers to use. A browse through the fridge revealed some leftover ground beef and the last of a bag of shredded taco cheese. You can put ANYTHING in an omelette, so I browned the beef, and put it in an omelette with the cheese, and seasoned it with a healthy dose of Slap Ya' Mama. If we're Facebook friends, you may have heard the woeful tale of an unopened bottle of vodka meeting its demise on my kitchen floor. A peek in the freezer revealed he last of a bottle I'd forgotten about. YAY!! Happy Thanksgiving.
