We've lost a musical legend. Aretha Franklin has passed away at 76, after battling pancreatic cancer. I've been listening to Aretha's music since I was a kid. She had a legendary career. The queen of Soul cracked Billboard's top 40 chart more than 40 times, scoring 17 top 10 singles. She was the first woman inducted into the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame. Here are a few of my favorites, in no particular order...

"Think" was a #7 chart hit (#1 on the R & B chart for 3 weeks) in 1968...

"The Blues Brothers" was a fun, silly movie that featured fantastic music. By the way, this song went to #1...

"Spanish Harlem" Peaked at #2 on Billboard's "Hot 100" (#1 R&B) It featured louisiana legend Dr. John on keyboards...

You KNOW you're badass when you blow the songwriter away!...

That "Hell of a band" in Rock 'n Roll Heaven just added an incomparable vocalist. Rest in peace, Queen of Soul...
