Steve Perry hasn't made an album in more than 20 years, either as a solo artist, or with Journey. He's back with a new single, "No Erasin'." The album, "Traces" is slated for an October 5th release. When he joined Journey in 1978, for the band's 4th album, "infinity," it began a 9 year run of hits and sold out concerts. Steve unilaterally disbanded the group in 1987. They reunited in 1996 for one album, "Trial by Fire," featuring the hit "When You Love A Woman." The supporting tour was scrapped after Steve sustained a hip injury. The band eventually went on without him. Journey's induction into the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame fueled speculation of a reunion. It didn't happen. Having interviewed Steve, and Journey keyboardist Jonathan Cain, I can tell you not to hold your breath. I've always loved Steve's voice. Give this a listen. Does he still have that magic, or has Steve Perry's time come and gone?...
