Star NFL Player Moved To Tears By National Anthem

Two storied NFL franchises faced off election eve on ESPN's Monday Night Football. Grammy winning trumpet virtuosos Chris Botti was engaged to perform the Star Spangled Banner before the Indianapolis Colts and New York Giants took the field. I remember a very stirring performance of our national anthem before another game involving the Giants, Whitney Houston's epic performance before Super Bowl XXV.

There was clearly something in the air Monday night. Botti's performance was haunting. The camera caught several individuals like Giants quarterback Eli Manning, and hall of fame linebacker Lawrence Taylor appearing very solemn. Veteran Colts' receiver Reggie Wayne was moved to tears. Watching the video got me a little choked up, too...
