St. Mary Adds 15 Minutes To School Day

The St. Mary Parish School System will make up time lost to the recent floods by adding 15 minutes to the school day, beginning Tuesday January 22. The amended schedule will continue through Friday, April 5. This is being done to ensure that students in St. Mary Parish regain instructional time lost on January 9th & 10th.

The  extension will recoup a total of just over 12 hours of instructional time, roughly the equivalent of two school days, prior to Phase II accountability testing. The test are scheduled to commence on Monday, April 8th. Students will, no doubt, be pleased about not having days added to the school calendar.
