Okay, as you have probably noticed (if you have read my previous posts), I am not a huge consumer of television programs.  I enjoy the REALity programs, like documentaries, History Channel programs, Discovery, some programming on LPB, but I am not a fan of the so-called 'reality shows'.   If these shows, like 'Big Brother' and 'Jersey Shore' are real, then America is in much more dire a circumstance than I realize.

With that being said, you should be able to understand why I was floored when I found out that this 'Snooki' thing was paid $2,000 more than a Nobel-winning novelist to appear at Rutgers University, to speak to the University Programming Association.
