According to a WWL TV report, the movers and shakers or I should say the mixers and blenders with Smoothie King are reportedly considering packing up their frosty franchise headquarters and heading for Texas.

The company is at the end of a five-year commitment to their current location and they are doing what any growing company should do. They are exploring their options. Now, this isn't the first time the purveyors of all things cold and frosty have considered a move to the Lone Star State.

In 2012 the company was fairly deep into plans to move to the Dallas area when Louisiana Economic Development rode in on a white horse, figuratively of course, with a fistful of your money, literally, to help sway the company's decision back in favor of staying put.

Just to be fair and so you won't hate Smoothie King, yet. The company reiterated in their report that they are simply exploring options. They also have no plans on relinquishing the naming rights to The Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.

My guess is the company will keep one eye on Texas and the other open for a "white horse carrying another fistful of your money".  That last horse brought $2.4 million in taxpayer-funded incentives. That's one hell of a horse if you ask me. Too bad you and I are left on the end that poops.
