You might not give much thought to how you sleep at night besides which position is most comfortable, but it turns out your sleeping position could reduce the risk of disease.

A report published in The Journal of Neuroscience reveals that our sleep positions affect how our brains flush out toxins. The study found that lying on the side is the most efficient position for toxins to flush through the system. One of the toxins that builds up and leads to Alzheimer's is amyloid beta, which is more thoroughly flushed out of the brain in the lateral position.
