Scott Bakula Cast In Lead Role Of ‘NCIS: New Orleans’

I reported in September about CBS' plans to air a spinoff of its hit series "NCIS" to be set in New Orleans. WWL reports Scott Bakula has been cast in the lead role, as special agent Pride.

The two episode pilot begins with Pride being contacted by his old friend, Special agent Gibbs (Mark Harmon), after the death of a mutual friend, and NCIS agent. Further casting has not yet been announced. Shooting is scheduled to begin later this month, and will reportedly take place in both Los Angeles, and New Orleans. If the episodes are well received, "NCIS New Orleans" could become a part of CBS' fall lineup.
