Saints Quartberback Drew Brees told a New Orleans radio station the Black and Gold want to score every time they touch the ball in the upcoming season. Brees is the only quarterback in NFL history to pass for 5,000 yards in a season three times, and holds the record for passing yards in a single season.

During Tuesday's telephone interview, Brees said, "I can tell you where our mindset is. Our mindset is to score every time we touch the ball and score 40 plus."
He went on to say the offensive mindset will be to not concern themselves if the defense is playing well. The 2012 Saints defense was the worst in NFL history. Sean Payton & his staff are overhauling it this offseason, switching to a 3-4 alignment, and bringing in multiple free agents. Gregg Rosenthal of nfl.com still has the Black and Gold's defensive line ranked among the worst in the league.
Brees says if the defense is playing well, the offense will not back off the throttle.  He went on to say this is the Saints' first "normal" offseason since 2009. He went on to say the team seems focused and motivated, adding, "It’s really been great and you can tell that guys are just chomping at the bit to get back and get rolling.”
