Saints’ Junior Gallette, ‘I’d Like To Apologize to The Fans’
Saints linebacker Junior Gallette has fallen into disfavor with a sizable contingent of the Who Dat Nation. His January arrest following a disturbance at his home didn't sit well with a lot of fans, and presumably head coach Sean Payton. Adding fuel to the fire, a Youtube video surfaced after teammate Cameron Jordan signed a new contract extension. Someone can be heard apparently saying, "F&@k Sean."
The charges from the January incident have been dropped, and a related civil suit has been withdrawn. Gallette told the Associated Press, "There were some die-hard fans that weren't too happy with the way I conducted myself off the field this offseason. I'd like to apologize to the fans. Lord knows I want to be here more than any other place in the world. I love it here. New Orleans gave me an opportunity - changed my life."
The Saints signed Gallette as an undrafted free agent in 2010. He's expected to meet with league officials by the end of June.
