It's a rarity that the New England Patriots under Head Coach Bill Belichick will lose two games in a row and that was the case on Sunday, after losing their opening game to the Kansas City Chiefs.

For the New Orleans Saints, it seemed to be more of the same, the defense couldn't limit big plays, they were playing in a soft defense most of the game, and playing from behind they couldn't get the run game going. Things simply didn't turn out like Head Coach Sean Payton would have hoped, "Don't feel like we're playing like we're capable of playing." In light of another losing effort today, 36-20.

Another problem was not being able to get off the field on third down early in the game, overall the Patriots were 6-12. Being able to bring pressure and make Tom Brady uncomfortable just was not there today as the defense accounted for only one sack.

Sean Payton also touched on that issue in his post game press conference saying, "There were a handful of plays when he (Brady) had too much time."

As we've seen over the past three years it's not enough to JUST have Drew Brees and hope that he'll absolutely carry you. He did play well statistically (356 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions) but the team overall needs to be better.

Sean Payton added, "We've gotta be better offensively." he also said, "We're not turning the ball over but we're not creating turnovers either."

The offensive line was a problem for the Saints in Week One, coming into this game they shuffled some of their lineman around. Andrus Peat shifted to LT, Ryan Ramczyk moved to RT and Senio Kelemete was at LG.

Drew Brees thought the OL battled out there in this game, "The guys worked very well and they had a tough task today."

Sean Payton also gave us his thought process on making the offensive line changes, "On a short week we felt like this was the best option for us."

Coming up next for the Saints will be two straight road games, next week at 2-0 Carolina and then all the way across the pond to London to face the Miami Dolphins.

History tells us that teams that start the season 0-2 have only a 10% chance of making the playoffs. The Saints fortunes need to change and change quickly, if they don't there is going to be a lot of uncertainty surrounding all involved with this team.
