The Rolling Stones were scheduled to perform in Perth, Australia Wednesday night. That was to be followed by shows in Melbourne, Sydney, and subsequent dates in New Zealand. The Associated Press reports, the "14 On Fire" tour is on hold following the death of Mick Jagger's longtime girlfriend, L'Wren Scott. She was found dead Monday, at about 10 am, in her New York apartment. Authorities are treating Scott's death as an apparent suicide.

Jagger tweeted, "I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way."

A company owned by Scott was reportedly deeply in debt.
The band issued a statement thanking fans for "their support at this difficult time."  The statement also advised ticket holders to hold onto their tickets.
